An evening with John and Sherry

...Petersik that is, ya know, from Young House Love.

YHL is one of my favorite blogs and at the end of 2012 the duo wrote a book, Young House Love.  Imagine my excitement when they announced their book tour would bring them to New York. After the first scheduled visit to NY was cancelled when Hurricane Sandy hit, it was rescheduled to last night. I headed into NYC early, after having read on the web site that the event was closed due to too many RSVPs and seeing some of the long-line photos from previous events.

I did a little shopping and walking to pass the time, hitting up my favorite store, Anthropologie, and also visiting Sephora for a little make-up playing, Origins and H&M. I arrived at Flor rather early and when I still didn't see any sign on John and Sherry just sorta hung out in front of the store. I noticed two other young ladies doing the same. After we confronted each other to confirm that yes, we were YHL stalkers and were all here for the same reason, we introduced ourselves and started the line! Before we knew it the line was down Wooster Street and we were all waiting patiently for our blog crushes to show up!

Sherry and John arrived in proper Sherry-and-John fashion — by foot with their PR person {whose name is Molly!!!!}. Sherry, in her bright blue dangle earrings and John in a plaid button down. Don't you just love their simplicity and awesome-ness? When the event began, me and my new friends were beyond thrilled to be the first group to enter the store and meet them. We waited patiently until they let us go up to the table and have our books signed, take pics and engage in conversation with the couple. It was so cool! After there was popcorn, wine, cookies and a photo booth too. So fun!
